Birds held to a goal less draw at home by UJ Ladies.

The game started with Blue Birds having the upper hand. Within 5 minutes of the start of the game both teams were evenly matched. Blue birds were the first team to take a shot on goal, but the UJ keeper stood firm. Blue birds got a free kick at the edge of the box, Vangile "Nyathama" Mnguni stepped up but her effort went over the bar. The game continued with steady progress as both teams were evenly matched until Blue birds made a technical change as they introduced Tshwarelo Digauta for Nkosazana Dila, who was playing in the middle for Blue Birds.

The substitute meant that Noxolo "Zongo” Gcina had to switch from the left wing to her normal midfield position, the switch meant that Zongo would team up Nonhlanhla "Gadaffi" Mthandi in the midfield and magic would be witnessed as both players are skilled and have the capacity to shake things up for Blue birds, but that was not to be seen, as UJ kept the pair at bay. Both teams had ample opportunities, but they both failed to convert any of their created chances, and it seemed as if both keepers were actually on holiday. The first half ended with both teams at 0-0.

The second half begin Blue birds conceding a corner kick, but UJ took it out for a Blue birds throw in. Blue birds were looking at creating something out of nothing from the throw in as Tshwarelo Digauta was left alone in the left wing and found herself on a one-on-one situation against the UJ, who came up on top again as she saved Tshwarelo's effort. Blue birds got two more chances but they failed to capitalise on them. Boitumelo Goge found herself in a tap-in one-on-one chance with only the keeper to beat, but failed to bury the opportunity.

They soon got another chance as Nyathama took on the whole UJ defence on the right wing and cut inside for a shot which saw the UJ keeper come out tops again for superb save to make it a corner kick for Blue Birds. Blue birds got a chance again as they got a free kick in the edge of the box and this time Zongo stepped up and took the set-piece only to place it over the bar. A UJ player was red-carded as she exchanged some words with the referee who did not hesitate to book her for her second yellow card.

The game ended at 0-0 for both teams meaning that UJ has 14 points and Blue birds has 11 points from 10 games.
