Gaddafi scores on debut!

Blue birds were against Aqua Ladies at Munsieville Stadium in Krugersdorp. The Game started on a high note as Blue got a free kick and saw Vangile "Nyathama" Mnguni place it a few inches over the bar. The game progressed and blue birds created ample opportunities but failed to convert any of their chances.

The half progressed with Blue birds having the upper hand, yet they failed to convert any of their chances, as the Aqua ladies keeper was the only thing denying Blue Birds a goal. Blue birds were actually dominant the entire half, especially in the dying minutes of the first half. The half ended with both teams dead-locked at 0-0.

The second half started with Blue birds dominating in possession, but having their player new Gaddafi being brought down in the box and the referee pointing for a corner kick. Second half substitute Nomtobeko got a chance to take birds in the lead a few minutes after coming in but saw her shot go over the bar. Birds got another chance with Nontobeko, but the Aqua defence cleared.

Birds created more chances in the space of the first 15 minutes of the second half, but failed to capitalize on it. The breakthrough of the game came in the 31st minute as Gaddafi chipped the oncoming Aqua Ladies keeper to make it 1-0 to Blue birds. It was her debut in the yellow and blue of Blue Birds, and it was impressive to see a player playing in the middle of the park taking on players and scoring on her debut.

Birds continued to put pressure on n Aqua as Vangile failed to capitalize on a clear cut chance in the left side of the keeper’s box and drove it down the near post for a goal kick. Gaddafi had a chance to make it 2-0, but her shot went over the bar in the dying minutes of the game. The game ended 0-1 in favour of Blue Birds.
