Blue Birds crash out of the MAP Games.

Blue birds crash out the MAP 2016 edition.

Blue birds have crashed out the Maimane Alfred Phiri Games. The birds were placed in a group with Wits Ladies, Pull Together and Croesus Ladies. Blue birds played their first game against Wits Ladies and the game ended 1-1. The second game they played against Pull Together, whom they played in the last 8 of the JM Busha Woman's Tournament, a game the birds lost 2-0. It was to be seen how the birds would react this time around, just a few minutes into the game Blue birds were trailing 1-0, and Pull Together came hard on the birds and were soon 2-0 up. As the game progressed Blue birds put one in for a redeemer goal but the game ended 4-1 in favour of Pull together.

The game had a last chance to go through to the quarter finals with a game against Croesus Ladies, the game went into half time tied at 0-0 and a few minutes into the second half, Blue birds went 1-0 up but the celebrations were short lived soon after a Croesus forward left the Blue birds captain Thabile Nene for pace to tie up the score at 1-1. The game ended with that score line meaning that Blue Birds were out of the competition.

Blue birds will now focus on the league as they will face off against Croesus on the 23rd of July 2016.
