Birds let lead slip!

Birds let lead slip!

The game started slow and blue birds were the first to show hunger for goals as their shot was deflected with only the keeper to beat with only 2 minutes into the game. TUT conceded a free kick in the middle of the pitch and Blue birds capitalised on it, as they took it short and wide to connect with Vangile Mnguni who took on the whole TUT defence to slot in from close range to make it 1-0 to Blue birds within 5 minutes of the opening half of the game.

The half progressed with a steady pace and TUT trying to break into the birds half with no luck as the birds midfield was tight and could not penetrated. Blue birds got another free kick outside of the box and Vangile stepped up and took it with no luck as the TUT keeper took it with ease. TUT continuously pressed Blue birds with no luck at all.

Meanwhile in the middle of the park Sindi Dlamini proved to be a problem for the TUT midfield as she made defence splitting passes going forward. She was then substituted in with only 10 minutes to go into the break for Paulette Coglin. Morongwa Manamela was drawn back to the middle of the pitch to fill the void left by Sindi. TUT got a chance to level the score with a free kick but it hit the cross bar.

Meanwhile on the other side of the pitch Blue birds got a chance and capitalised on it as Vangile got a defence splitting pass from the middle of the pitch, she had to give a chase but finally managed to keep the ball in play to cross to Paulette who then headed for bird's second goal to make it 2-0 in favour of Blue birds. The first half ended soon after birds slotted in for their second courtesy of Vangile and Paulette.

As the second half got underway, Blue birds were enjoying an upper hand in the ball possession and moving forward. TUT pulled on back 10 minutes of the second half and that made the game to be anyone's. It was interesting as TUT were fighting for a second to bring the score level at 2 all but were unfortunate. TUT's chance came as the birds defence conceded a free kick outside of the box and TUT capitalised to make the score 2-2 just after 25 minutes of the second half.

TUT shown their dominance and made sure that it was felt as they continued to press Blue birds and they were soon rewarded as Blue birds defence soon cracked and made silly mistakes which cost them dearly, and once again TUT had scored a 3rd goal, from 2-0 in the first half to 2-3 as they walked away victorious in the dying minutes of the game.
