Deadline Day Drama!

Deadline Day Drama!

Blue Birds reinforced their squad in the last day of the transfer window with 3 new players. It was just a make or break day for Birds as they had not received the cards of the new players they had signed during last few days of the transfer window. Blue birds added a midfield maestro in Nonhlanhla "Gaddafi" Mthandi, a right back in Learato p Makhanya, and a striker in Dimakatso Mashinini.

Nonhlanhla and Lerato are former players of Mamelodi Sundowns and Dimakatso is a development of the structure. These players came in a good time as Blue birds were missing a link between defenders and strikers, meaning that Gaddafi will fill that void. All three players made their debut in the Zodwa Khoza Memorial Tournament that took place at the start of the August month.

Gaddafi was instrumental in the 5-1 win over Rosina Sedibane Sport School, her touches proved to be too much for RSSS as they could not contain her. Dimakatso also featured in that same game and was converted to the left back position as there was a shortage of players. Both Gaddafi and Dimakatso were injured in that game meaning that, they would have to miss the next game which was against TUT. Lerato featured on the TUT game and adjusted very well to the style of play Blue birds use.

Gaddafi and Dimakatso will make their official league debut on Saturday the 3rd of September, an away game against Aqua Ladies in their own backyard in Krugersdorp's Munsieville Stadium. The game will kickoff at 12 PM.
